How and When to Recertify

Recertification cycles are every 3 years and require the submission of your recertification application found below. Before you begin the application, be sure to have handy a copy of your state issued ID and your professional license, and gather your CE certificates needed for recertification to upload. Fill out the application, make your payment and wait for the office to process your application, it is not automatic.
It may take up to 3 weeks to process depending on the volume on the day you submitted your application, so start early to prevent a lapse in your certification. You will receive a copy of your new certificate by email only, we do not send out new printed certificates unless you prepay for that service. You will also receive a letter by email verifying that you have successfully been recertified.

Cost associated with Recertification:

If on time - $149 plus your CEs for the cycle recertifying

If late for current cycle - $169 plus your CEs for the late cycle

If 2 cycles late - $189 plus CEs for two cycles

(example: if 30 needed for one cycle, submit 60 for 2 cycles)
If three cycles late - Must retake the exam in order to recertify and pay all associated certification fees.

SCAM ALERT: Remember that no one can recertify you other than the organization that originally certified you, so be skeptical of texts or emails offering to recertify you, to keep your certification information up to date, or to ask you to pay to be entered into a National Data Registry as you are already in the National Data Registry of the ABCM the day you become certified. It has come to our attention that an entity going by the domain of abcm.ai is soliciting our certified customers for these reasons and they are not associated with the American Board of Cardiovascular Medicine (ABCM). Our email is [email protected]. Any other email address that solicits you should be disregarded as suspicious. If you receive a text message from 877-680-2226 please do not unsubscribe as this is from the American Board of Cardiovascular Medicine (ABCM) and you can respond to it, however if you receive a text from a 941 area code, unsubscribe as that is not coming from ABCM, it will be coming from abcm.ai which is not associated with abcmcertification.com.
