ABCM Cardiac Society Memberships
Coming Soon

For more than two decades, the American Board of Cardiovascular Medicine (ABCM) has upheld rigorous standards in cardiovascular specialty certification.

As part of our continued commitment to advancing specialty excellence and strengthening independent governance, ABCM is pleased to announce the launch of the ABCM Professional Membership Society, target date: April 15.

This initiative represents a significant step in formalizing structured certification maintenance support while preserving the integrity and independence of the ABCM credential.

“Join to align your certification with structured specialty advancement.”

Why We Are Launching Professional Membership

As ABCM prepares for national accreditation alignment with the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) in 2026, we are strengthening the infrastructure that supports our diplomates.

Professional Membership provides the following to ABCM's

Certified Diplomats and Non-Diplomat Members:

1. Access to 15 ABCM-developed cardiology continuing education (CE) credits annually; good for recertification if already a Certified Diplomat, and/or toward other certification renewals, and professional license renewals.

2. All CE programs aligned with ABCM recertification standards

3. Structured CE tracking

4. Documentation storage

5. Renewal cycle monitoring for Diplomats

5. Professional member recognition

6. Exclusive quarterly updates from the ABCM Education and Research Division, including emerging developments in cardiovascular diagnostics and technology

All ABCM Certified Diplomates — members and non-members — must continue to meet established maintenance standards,

including submission of 30 cardiovascular-specific
CEs every three years; certification requirements remain unchanged.

BONUS MEMBER BENEFIT

“The ABCM Education and Research Division is advancing investigation into non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostics in collaboration with clinical cardiology partners.”

“Members will receive exclusive quarterly updates from the ABCM Education and Research Division, including emerging developments in cardiovascular diagnostics and technology.”
